What other location targeting companies do is to count where people visit and how many times. They do not take into account the reason behind being in a particular location, only that the person was there – Locomizer takes this into account.
Counting could be equated to rational behaviour, and we are not rational beings.
Other companies rely on the ‘check-in’ but for Locomizer, it is not a question of ‘check-in’, but the context of being around a location.
Other companies rely on super accurate location data, but Locomizer can create accurate profiles with up to 400 metre accuracy around a point. 10 meters can make a big difference in the profile of a person if using the counting methodology, but Locomizer studies the context, which relies on many points. If there is a shift of 10 meters or so due to changes in infrastructure of a location, the context remains similar – we can extract the same value from changing circumstances and hence less accurate data.
